Recently I made the pivotal step in life. The next step in a series of accelerating motions that signal my adulthood. What did I do? I got engaged. Lovely girl, and very happy with this decision we've begun the endeavor of thinking about our wedding (it has thus since been planned to happen in Fall of 2012). That gives me a little over a year of mock bachelor-hood. But not really.
So why make this blog?
Well if you're one of my friends or family, you already know how ludicrously in debt I am thanks to Student Loans from college. Oh yes, they do stink. Thanks to little support from financial aid (Hofstra University ranked one of the worst schools when it comes to it), and no support from well financed parents (unprepared father followed by his passing away), the experience of college has been left on my shoulders to pay off in perpetuity until the end of existence (or so it feels like).
I joked with the fiance that it would be funny to ask people to donate to the "Get us out of debt" fund, instead of applying to registries. She wasn't laughing. ... I get it, that's neither sweet, nor romantic, nor...wedding-like. I do. So, in a desperate bid for fame and money, I come where most people do. The internet.
Using this blog I'll get out my thoughts and feelings as we move through the courses and progress into getting actually married. We'll laugh, we'll cry, there may be other bottled up emotions somewhere there. More to the point, as soon as I figure it out, I'm going to add a paypal account and if anyone feels like donating, I won't say no! In fact I encourage it! Maybe we can work out a deal of sorts. You want to hijack a few posts/get credited by et moi/something else, we can talk. So I guess that's all I have to say for this entry for now. Hopefully I'll try to update a few times a week, maybe pickup a rhythm of some sort.
Thanks for your attention, feel free to return to monotony.
